What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist. The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.

Remember the reasoning for our Tuesday and Thursday Oly Lifts and don't forget it!!! Last year's CrossFit Games gave two prime examples that I'm sure we will see again this year in Denver ... Deadlift/Burpee WOD and the final WOD of the Games - Squat Clean & Jerk!

100 Day Burpee Challenge:
Day 52:
Burpees To Date: 1,378
Burpee Remaining: 3,672

Today's WOD:
"2008 CrossFit Games WOD - Deadlift / Burpees"
Five Rounds For Time:
5 x Deadlifts (M-275 lbs / W-185 lbs)
10 x Burpees (Full Hip Extension with Clap during Jump)

NorCal Regional Games posted that if you want in the competition, then men need to be around the 5:00 mark and women around the 6:00. These times were an average of all competitors in the 2008 Games. Don't go with the heavy weight unless you plan on keeping your form solid throughout ... otherwise you're going to fuck things up real bad.

5:40 ... I pacved myself too much through the first three rounds and killed the last two. Still a ways off from Jason Khalipa's 2:37 last year! 2:37 ... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!
